Let customers speak for us
from 18 reviewsI absolutely love the kiritsuke design.
The handle is very comfortable and the blade easily hones up to a crisp edge.
We've been watching a lot of cooking shows lately that focus on Asian cuisine. A common knife that they feature on the shows is a cleaver. We haven't had one in household in years, so we thought we would give this one a whirl as a replacement. It's much lighter than the one that we previously had and cuts pretty well. That one had such a thick blade on it therefore making it difficult to sharpen. The box it comes in is nice and the cleaver itself looks beautiful. It would certainly make a good housewarming or wedding gift. It's a hard knife to store due to its size and shape. For now, we keep it in its box and store it sideways in a drawer since our knife block doesn't have a dedicated slot for it.
This item is sturdy and durable. Great value for the money. Easy to use. I highly recommend this item.
This is a 7 inch forged Japanese damascus steel knife with a Pakkawood handle. Damascus knives have a unique wavy pattern and are known to be quite hard and flexible while maintaining a sharp edge. This knife cuts like a dream. Out of the box, there’s no need to sharpen the knife. I have a hard time cutting through tomato skin with a lot of knives and this knife just grazed the skin and cut right through it! I was pleasantly surprised that the unique pattern on the knife doesn’t appear to be laser etched and that this is indeed real damascus steel. Pakkawood is a man-made material. It’s made from real wood but then uses a veneer covering that’s not real wood. It’s supposed to be more resilient and resistant to hard-wearing use than a fully wooden handle. Overall, this is not a cheap knife and the performance matches its price.
Feliz de haber comprado este cuchillo, es muy bonito y súper filoso, lo recomiendo ampliamente aparte de que llegó en el momento justo y sin problemas, cinco estrellas
It's definitely worth investing in high quality knife and this knife has worked very well for me. The handle had a very good shape that is comfortable and allows for better control. The knife is both beautiful and dependable. I only use wooden cutting boards so that my knives stay sharp longer and this knife has done awesome in staying sharp. The slight curve in this chef knife is great for cutting and slicing with a rocking motion. The multiple layers of damascus are not only part of making a better blade but also beautiful. This is now one of two main knives that I use.
I’ve been wanting a quality chef knife for a while now and finally decided to pull the trigger on this one. I am not especially familiar with the differences between various blade types, but I can say that this Damascus steel blade is by far the sharpest of all my kitchen knives. I took this for a spin cutting a tomato and was quite impressed with it being able to cut a slice that was less than the width of the blade (approx 1/16 of an inch). This demonstrates just how sharp and easy it is to control, even for a novice such as myself. The weight of the blade is well balanced and the handle is comfortable. I wish it came with a storage sheath, but I will pick one up or replace one of the blades in my knife block with this one. The only question left is how to sharpen it without messing up the blade.
Me gustó, tal cual como esta en la publicidad
This is the greatness knife I have ever owned. It is always sharp (be careful) and will order additional knives to complete the set.
Apologies. I don’t have time to do a full review. So I will be concise.
Amazon recommended this as a less expensive alternative to another knife that I was looking at.
It had hundreds of positive reviews - so I bought it -on sale at around $79.
It came in a nice box- wrapped nicely - with 2 small covers.
Surprisingly- and to my shock! - I cut myself on the first use! It is like a razor- it took a solid second for the blood to appear.
Once bitten - twice shy. But I bandaged up and continued testing it.
Worth every bloody cent! (Pun intended).
It slices through meat EFFORTLESSLY- actually with pleasure. My previous knives did okay crusting stewing beef - this one does it like butter.
Veggies are a wiz.
Frozen ribs was a test- my wife had reservations - and semi- thawed the ribs- and had no issue.
I have done frozen meat with a small degree of difficulty- but if I pushed harder - I believe the knife is up to the task. But I didn’t want to - and slightly thawed is best I believe.
The knife is an emerald green and the blade has a nice “patina” to it.
It’s grip is “standard” and acceptable- no issues- but higher end knifes - these days- are being engineered with modern ergonomic grips.
Otherwise it feels comfortable.
I rate this as one of my best knives - the steel is high grade and as stated a composition of strong iron and steel fired.
This is a great knife and good value.
